If there’s one thing to say about Dakota Johnson that’s unrelated to her impeccable style, it’s that she remains booked and busy. On February 3, Deadline reported that the 32-year-old is in talks to join the Spider-Man Universe as the lead in Sony’s upcoming Madame Web movie.
“Following the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony is looking to expand on its universe of Marvel characters,” the publication said, noting that the film would mark the studio’s first modern comic book adaptation to feature a woman in the titular role. Although sources have likened her powers to Dr. Strange, they also said that the project may develop into “something else” given that the story of Madame Web typically features an elderly woman with a severe medical condition that “never actively fought any villains.”
On March 16, the project got even more exciting when Deadline reported that Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney would be joining the cast. While most of the details are still under wraps, one thing is certain: the press tour looks are going to be fire.
