Amy Schumer is feeling good these days. The always candid comedian and actor shared a happy beach pic on Tuesday, January 18, in which she reveals the procedures that have helped her regain strength since giving birth to her son, Gene, two years ago.
“I feel good. Finally,” she wrote, alluding to the endometriosis and pregnancy complications she’s opened up about in the past. In her HBO series, Expecting Amy, Schumer shared the toll that pregnancy took on her body, and she’s now revealing the time and effort it took to recover. Also, she’s thanking the doctors and professionals who helped her along the way. “It’s been a journey thanks for helping me get my strength back @seckinmd (endo) @jordanternermd (lipo) never thought i would do anything but talk to me after your uterus doesn’t contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40. @paulvincent22 vickie Lee (acupuncture) my girl Nicole from the tox my friends and fam. Schumer has posted about her endometriosis before; she had her uterus and appendix removed with excellent results in September 2021, per People. However, this is the first time she’s mentioned liposuction.
The post was quickly flooded with comments from friends and fans, celebrating Schumer’s confidence and happiness. Peers, including Pamela Adlon and Olivia Munn, posted heart emoji, to which we gladly add our own.
Back in September, Schumer shared a post from her doctor’s office about her endometriosis complications in an effort to raise awareness. “There is no research on this shit because they only happen TO WOMEN and there is no time to study them because all resources need to be funneled into researching ERECTILE DISFUNCTION,” she wrote. “THERE IS BARELY ANY RESEARCH ON ENDOMETRIOSIS WHICH OVER 10 percent of women have. ALL FUNDING SEEMS TO GO TO DICKMEREGENCIES.”
