Surviving Paradise: A Family Tale (Netflix): OK, so it’s not Bridgerton, but we’ll take it. Plus, we get to listen to Regé-Jean Page’s soothing voice as he narrates this film about the Okavango Delta, a vast oasis isolated from the rest of the world by desert. Per Netflix, Surviving Paradise: A Family Tale “explores the blueprints for building the perfect world, managing it sustainably, and maintaining it—despite extremes of drought, famine, and flood. Most crucially, it spotlights those passing the secret formula on to their descendants, who will find it harder than ever before to keep their Eden intact.” Streaming now.

The Dropout (Hulu): In case you haven’t been following the case of Elizabeth Holmes, she’s the former biotech entrepreneur who started Theranos (a combination of therapy and diagnosis) as a way to revolutionize blood testing. Problem is, it didn’t work, and she was convicted of defrauding investors. That’s the simple version of a very complex story that sees Amanda Seyfried very convincingly step into the role of Holmes, alongside Naveen Andrews, Laurie Metcalf, Sam Waterston, and others. First three episodes now streaming, followed by one a week each Thursday.

The Tourist (HBO Max): Jamie Dornan returns to television with this addicting thriller in which he plays a British man driving through the Australian outback when he gets into a horrific car crash and loses his memory. There’s so many crazy twists and turns that will make you question everything. What you won’t doubt, however, is how good Dornan is in the role alongside Danielle Macdonald (Patti Cake$, Bird Box, Dumplin) as Helen, an officer who befriends Dornan’s character. All six episodes streaming.

FRESH (Hulu): Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones of Normal People fame) is exhausted from scrolling through plenty of suspicious fellas on dating apps (hmph, sounds familiar), which is why she doesn’t expect to meet a seemingly great guy named Steve (Pam and Tommy‘s Sebastian Stan) when she’s at the grocery store late at night. Noa ends up going away for a weekend with Steve—but naturally, he’s not quite who he seems. According to Hulu, he’s been “hiding troubling appetites and her dream weekend quickly turns into a nightmare.” To which I ask, what on earth does it take to meet a great guy nowadays? Streaming.

“Dear…” (Apple TV+): The second season of the inspiring series drops today and features new installments with the late André Leon Talley, Viola Davis, Malala Yousafzai, Jane Fonda, Ava DuVernay, Billy Porter, Sandra Oh, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Laird Hamilton. And now that Susie has moved into a new place, perhaps she could use some of the Tupperware that Midge is currently selling.
