And just who are these new cast members who are joining the show?
The Christie Family, made up of patriarch Tom Christie and his kids, Allan and Malva, will play a major part in Jamie and Claire’s lives in the new season. Tom Christie (actor Mark Lewis Jones) is a fellow Ardsmuir prisoner and devout protestant. He arrives on the Ridge seeking a place to settle, but his strong opinions make for a very uneasy transition.
Meanwhile, Allan Christie (played by Alexander Vlahos) is quite headstrong like his father and wary of strangers. And then there’s Malva Christie (played by Jessica Reynolds), who wants to forge her own path and takes a liking to Claire’s work and modern approach to life and career. Naturally, this doesn’t sit well with her father, who expects that she serve the men in her life and stay silent (to which we say, good luck, Tom! Not gonna happen).
