Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen Dated for ‘Several Months’ After Love Is Blind Ended

Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen from Love Is Blind season two can at least say they tried to make it work—like, they really, really, really tried.

In a new interview with People, Natalie revealed that she and Shayne dated even after their wedding ended without a marriage between the two. “A week after our wedding, we started dating again,” she said. “Maybe it’s not dating—we continued our engagement again. We were together for several months.”

During the reunion episode, now streaming on Netflix, Natalie also shared that they tried dating again after the cameras stopped rolling: “We gave it another shot after our wedding day. We dated again without the pressures. We just wanted to see how we would work out.”

Round two didn’t last, however. Natalie explained on the reunion that she wasn’t able to move on from the huge fight that she and Shayne had had right before their wedding, during which he had made hurtful comments. Speaking directly to Shayne at the reunion, Natalie said, “I will say, for me, I held on to that fight for so long and I held it against you. I couldn’t get myself to move on from it.”

Throughout the second season of the hit Netflix show, Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen’s relationship was thrown several curveballs. While there definitely seemed to be an immense amount of love between the two, there was also a situation-ship between Jansen and contestant Shaina Hurley. Many viewers felt Shaina—who was engaged to Kyle Abrams briefly—was trying to break up Natalie and Shayne during the show, something that Shaina blames on poor editing.

However, Shaina did profess her feelings for Shayne right before he proposed to Natalie and then lied to Natalie when she was asked point-blank about her feelings for Shayne. Maybe it’s poor editing, or just a lot of hurt feelings. Hard to say! Perhaps because of a perceived love triangle and a huge fight the night before their wedding, Natalie ultimately said no to Shayne at the wedding ceremony even after he said “I do.”

“I think it’s our different approaches to finances, our different approaches to just general lifestyle,” Natalie shared with Entertainment Tonight about what led to the big fight. “And, I think, just the feeling of making a lot of compromises may have gotten to him. And just…and I think he held that in for a bit, and it came out that night.”
