Two Women Have Accused Chris Noth of Sexual Assault

Two women told The Hollywood Reporter that they were allegedly raped by Chris Noth, the actor who played Mr. Big on Sex and the City. The women, who were granted the use of pseudonyms in the piece to protect their privacy, do not know each other and brought their stories to The Hollywood Reporter separately, according to the publication.

One of the women, who goes by Zoe in the article, alleges that she was assaulted by Noth in 2004 in Los Angeles when she was a 22-year-old working at an entertainment company. The other woman, “Lily,” says she was allegedly assaulted by Noth in 2015 when she was working as a server in a New York City nightclub. In the Zoe case, The Hollywood Reporter quoted a friend, as well as her boss at the time, who confirmed to the Reporter that Zoe told them about the alleged assault at the time. In the Lily case, The Hollywood Reporter quoted a friend who confirmed that Lily told them about the alleged assault at the time.

Noth sent The Hollywood Reporter this statement: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago—no always means no—that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

Both women, according to the Reporter, say they were moved to come forward with their stories after seeing Chris Noth’s name in the news ahead of And Just Like That…, the HBO Max Sex and the City spin-off in which Noth once again plays his longtime role, Mr. Big.
